Did you turn 69 in 2006?
If you turned 69 in 2006, get that RRSP contribution in! The government mandates that you can't own an RRSP past December 31 of the year you turn age 69. Your RRSP must be collapsed, and you must either pay tax on the assets, use them to purchase an annuity, or transfer them to a RRIF. If you have RRSP contribution room, you must make your contribution by December 31. You do not have the extra 60 days after year-end that you had in the past. So don’t wait to make your contribution! Please contact your accountant
at Harvey, Lister & Webb Incorporated to
discuss the possibilities. Legal Notice: Information on this site is not intended for use without professional advice.
